Delivery services offer local content
Response continues to grow for the new online service Locally Yours offering gift baskets full of products from Windsor and Essex County sources and suppliers. The items include jams, honey, handmade soap, biscotti, cookies, maple syrup and wine jelly.
Rachelle Booth, of Windsor, opened the service two months ago. She saw an opportunity to provide items as gifts and was impressed with the Downtown Farmers' Market last year.
She offers delivery and a long list of suppliers have signed on. The service showcases their items as gifts, opens a new market and sales outlet and offers more exposure. As the service develops, Booth expects to offer more information and stories about the suppliers.
The website www.locallyyours.ca offers information or call 519-253-0888. Natural, local and organic food items continue to remain popular with consumers. A new service joins a variety of food delivery programs available in the area. Izabela Muzzin, with Aleksander Estate Winery, expects to open, with her husband Mark, their County Connect as an online market early next month to provide access to locally grown products, information on local food sources and how items are grown or raised.
