Calabria Pizzeria
Family owned and operated pizzeria with a dedication to providing a menu filled with healthy choices and using local ingredients. Their buy local theme also extends to their wine menu which features only Essex County wines.
Menu Specialties: Yellow perch, fresh salads including the “bria salad”, a greek salad without the lettuce, and pizza, including several gourmet pizzas such as the famous “salty dog” and “uncle eddies” which is made with our homemade pesto.
Local Flavour: We are fortunate to be located a short distance from most of the products we need. We begin our shopping trip east along County Road 14. A stop at Bill Neufeld’s fruit stand for onions and next door, for potatoes at the Bradley potato farm. Two kilometers past Albuna, we stop at Enns greenhouses for a box of “campari” tomatoes, then to Orangeline greenhouses for peppers at their stand. We either continue on to Wheatley for our yellow perch supply, or we circle back to Highline mushrooms, for pizza slice mushrooms, then to Alexander and Pelee wineries for some merlot or chardonnay. Then to N and M Mastronardi farms on Hwy. 18 for herbs and finally to Cornies farms, on Kratz sideroad for cucumbers. During the summer months we can go to Pretli or Murray’s produce stands in Cottam for carrots, onions, corn, fruits or any other vegetable we may require.
Driving Directions: From Windsor take Hwy. 3 past Essex to County Road 27. Turn left into Cottam. Left again at County Rd 34 to Calabria Pizzeria 1 block away.
